Campbell Memorial High School principal on paid leave

CAMPBELL — A principal at Campbell Memorial High School is on paid administrative leave as of Thursday.

Jacquelyn Hampton is on leave as the investigation are conducted into possible misconduct involving a student or students.

“As a public employer, Campbell City Schools must follow the appropriate procedures in the investigation of allegations of misconduct by a staff member. We do not rush to judgment or cater to rumors,” Matthew Bowen, schools superintendent, said in a statement today. “Instead we endeavor to take the time necessary to determine the facts and make decisions based on the information before us. Nevertheless, an administrator has been placed on leave pending completion of the investigation. On the advice of board counsel we believe it to be imprudent to comment further.”
