Register for girls softball league
The Austintown Girls Softball League is in the middle of its registration period. The last in-person registration will happen Feb. 21 and 22 from 12-4 p.m. at the Austintown Township Hall, located at 82 Ohltown Road in Austintown. The league is open to all girls ages 5-18 as for Dec. 13. The nonrefundable regsitration fee is $55 for ages 5-8 and $80 for ages 9-18, and includes the payer’s jersey and shorts. They accept cash, check (made payable to AGSL) or credit cards. A player’s birth certificate and fee are required at the time of registration. The weather is getting colder and it’s now winter sports season. Neighbors wants to be there every step of the way. If you’re a winter sports coach or the parent of an athlete, we need you help. In order to get teams and players the recognition they deserve, we want to showcase them in our pages. We can only do that if you commit to sending us game reports and photos each week. If you send it, it will get in. You can email us at neighbors@vindy.com. You don’t have to be a writer — just send us the information and we’ll put it all together. When emailing pictures, send them as JPEG files as large as possible. Provide caption information and where people are located from left to right, front row to back.
The sports news we’re looking for ranges from varsity high school teams down to middle school and even elementary and recreational leagues.
