Pa. State Police to charge inmate in stabbing at prison

ALBION, Pa. (AP) — State police plan to file aggravated assault charges against an inmate who allegedly assaulted and stabbed another inmate with a homemade weapon at the State Correctional Institution-Albion in northwestern Pennsylvania.

State police say the victim, 33-year-old Job Knighton, remained in critical condition after he was stabbed with a plastic pen, slammed to the floor and had his head stomped by a 25-year-old inmate about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The accused inmate remains in disciplinary custody at the prison, which is about 110 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Police have not released the alleged attacker’s name because criminal charges have yet to be filed.
