Liquor sales up by $1M in Mahoning County


YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County almost had a $1 million increase in liquor sales in 2014.

The county’s liquor sales by contact liquor agencies increased from $19.4 million to $20.3 million in 2014, according to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control.

Trumbull County also saw an increase in sales with $11.5 million sold in 2013 compared to $11.9 million in 2014.

Columbiana was the only county in the Valley to see a decrease with $4.1 million sold in 2013 and $4.07 million sold in 2014.

Statewide, dollar sales of spirituous liquor reached a record level in 2014 of $949 million. This was an increase of 5.6 percent and exceeded last year’s total by $50 million.
