Warren man gets 8-year prison sentence
WARREN — Chad Summers, 39, of Freeman Street, was sentenced to eight years in prison Tuesday for breaking into a mobile home on Shady Lane Circle Northeast in Howland last March and threatening a woman and her daughter with two kitchen knives.
Summers pleaded guilty before Judge Andrew Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to one count of aggravated burglary, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of aggravated burglary.
The women told police Summers had been in a relationship with the mother until just before the incident. They said Summers broke into the home while they were watching television, took two knives from the kitchen and threatened to kill himself.
Later, he held one knife to the older woman’s abdomen and one to her neck and told her daughter “you’re going to watch your mother die,” police said.
