Infant hit with coffee mug dies; father charged with murder

Police in Ohio say a 2-month-old baby has died after being hit with a coffee mug that was thrown during an argument between the child’s parents.

The infant’s father was charged with murder Tuesday just hours after the child died earlier in the morning at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Investigators in Canton say the baby was hit in the head by the mug and that the hospital notified police.

Canton police say the baby’s father also has been charged with child endangering and domestic violence.
