Truly hungry, or comforting yourself with food? Mindless eating in front of the TV, while driving or at the computer can lead to significant weight gain. Learn to be more aware of what you eat and why during a “Healthy Eating for You: Eating Mindfulness” presentation planned from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Feb. 19 in the Willow Room at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, 8401 Market St. The presentation, provided by Mercy Health Youngstown, formerly Humility of Mary Health Partners, is free and open to the public. Pasta cook-off set Feb. 22 by parish

WARREN

Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, will host the 13th annual Pasta Cook-Off and Wine Tasting on Feb. 22 in the parish’s Covelli Gymnasium. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.

The event features local restaurant and professional chefs competing with their signature pasta dish, amateurs competing with their signature dish, and an amateur wine competition with local wine makers competing for a gold award with their best reds, whites and pinks.

Competing this year are Antone’s Banquet Centre, Buena Vista Cafe, Chookie Alberini, DiVieste Banquet Center, Leo’s Ristorante, Salvatore’s Cafe, Station Square Restaurant and Sunrise Inn.

Tickets are available at the parish office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. Adults are $13, children under 11 are $6 and $35 for families (two adults and two children). At the door, adults will be $15, children for $7, and $40 for family. Tickets include samples of a few pastas, salad, dessert and beverage. Parishioners provide home-baked goods to complete the meal.

Music will be provided by Take II. Those attending will vote for the People’s Choice Award.

All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association Heart Walk.

Event planned for Paisley residents

Jerry Cox, golf course superintendent at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield, and his sister Jill Cox, executive director of Paisley House, have planned a St. Valentine’s Day event for Paisley House women and their sweethearts. Tippecanoe will host a valentine dinner at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the club. Paisley House is an assisted living home that was founded in 1909.
