Campbell police arrest 10 people in drug bust

Staff report

CAMPBELL

Police arrested 10 people at the Kirwan Homes apartments Tuesday afternoon.

At that location, there was an earlier dispute between two men at 10:45 a.m., which resulted in a shooting that damaged an apartment, said officer Rob Vukovich.

No injuries were reported.

An inspector from the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority asked for a police escort while checking the damage on the property at 2 p.m.

The officer and the inspector smelled a strong odor of marijuana and saw evidence of drug paraphernalia. A search was conducted that found two guns, one fake and one real; and an unspecified amount of marijuana in plastic bags. Some of the suspects had warrants, and among them was a mother and her 16-year-old daughter. The mother would be charged with child endangerment, Vukovich said.

Among the charges for some of the suspects are drug trafficking and drug possession. One will be charged with carrying a concealed weapon, Vukovich said.
