Warren Police Department moves closer to joining Trumbull County 911
WARREN
The Warren Police Department appears to be moving forward with the removal of dispatching operations from the police department to the Trumbull County 911 center in Howland.
The Trumbull County commissioners are expected at Wednesday’s meeting to approve a resoution setting a Feb. 19 meeting to reconvene the Trumbull County 911 Planning Committee to discuss amending the county 911 plan to add the city of Warren to the county 911 jurisdiction.
Warren Police Chief Eric Merkel said there are several steps required for the city’s dispatching operation to move, but he doesn’t foresee any complications with any of those steps.
He said he doesn’t have a date for when the merger might take place and doesn’t know how many of his dispatchers might move to the county center.
