LISLE, ILL.

The United Auto Workers says employees it represents have ratified a four-year labor agreement with Navistar International Corp.

The union and company made the announcement Monday in a joint statement.

The current contract expired Oct. 1.

UAW represents about 1,500 employees at five Navistar facilities in Melrose Park, Springfield, Ohio, Atlanta, Dallas and York, Pa. The workers include engineering and engine assembly, truck assembly and parts distributors.

UAW Vice President Norwood Jewell says members approved a “fair and equitable” contract.
