The 44th-annual meeting of Protestant Family Service will be hosted by St. Andrewes African Methodist Episcopal Church, 521 W. Earle Ave., on Monday. A social hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6.
The annual meeting serves as one of the fundraisers to help PFS and its ongoing service to clients. Reservations are due by Thursday at a $25 donation per ticket. Call the office at 330-746-4600.
In addition to the business meeting, the Rev. Brandon Davis will conduct the installation service. Musical entertainment will be provided by For Grace male chorus from Grace AME Church in Warren.
PFS is a nonprofit agency providing monetary assistance with utilities, rent and life-sustaining medications and has an on-site food pantry.
PFS receives donations from churches, church groups, individuals, organizations and grants to operate its mission to the community.
It has served the Youngs- town community for 71 years and is in the Mill Creek Community Center at 496 Glenwood Ave.
The Youngstown Foundation awarded Protestant Family Service a $10,000 grant for capital improvement for the agency.
This $10,000 will be used to purchase office computers, a telephone system and other items. The equipment will aid the office in operating in a more-efficient manner to serve clients and the community.
