Chase Hilliard scored 27 points to go with nine rebounds, four steals and three assists for Beaver Local.
HOCKEY
Canfield 9, Bay Village 1
In their first appearance in the Baron Cup, the Cardinals (8-6) upset top-seeded Bay Village (14-0). The Baron Cup is the annual league tournament of the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League. Canfield advances to Saturday’s semifinals. Braden Falkingham scored four goals and one assist while Seth Opladen had two goals and four assists. Sam Hepala scored two goals while Logan Falkingham had one goal and one assist. Goaltender Pat Byrne stopped 26 of 27 shots. Zoie Amatore and Tony Cole each made an assist.
