Ohio teen charged with murder in uncle’s fatal shooting
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — A teenager accused in the fatal shooting of his uncle has been indicted in adult court on charges including aggravated murder in western Ohio.
A Clark County grand jury indicted 17-year-old Raymond Zimmerman on Monday in the Jan. 14 slaying and robbery of 70-year-old William Henson. Assistant Prosecutor Megan Farley says the indictment also charges Zimmerman with murder, felony murder, felonious assault, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and firearm theft.
Authorities say Henson was shot at his Clark County home and robbed of firearms and ammunition. An 18-year-old man also is charged.
Zimmerman also is charged with juvenile counts including escape and kidnapping. Authorities say he fled Jan. 23 from a hospital where he was transferred for an injury they believe was faked.
