Mary Todd Lincoln portrayal at library

WARREN

A program featuring a portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln, the former first lady, and Elizabeth Keckley, her seamstress, will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Thomas Room on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave.

Marilyn Payn will portray Lincoln, and Allison Smith will portray Keckley.

The program is sponsored by the CW150 committee of the Sutliff Museum and is free to the public.

The museum will be open before and after the program for viewing of artifacts from the period in which Mary Todd Lincoln and Elizabeth Keckley lived.

Theater offers ‘Almost, Maine’

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The New Castle Playhouse, 202 E. Long Ave., will present a special Valentine’s Day production of “Almost, Maine” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Caryn Leslie is the director.

The romantic comedy is set in the fictional town of Almost, Maine, a town that’s so far north, it’s almost in Canada.

It takes place on a cold, clear winter night. With the northern lights shimmering in the sky, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways.
