Warm up America project at centers
Pat Catan’s Craft Centers has the yarn and needles, now they just need volunteers.
This Saturday and Feb. 21, Pat Catan’s Craft Center invites volunteers to join them in-store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to link squares together to create finished afghans for Warm Up America.
Everyone is welcome to come knit or crochet. Light refreshments and a coupon will be provided for volunteers.

Radio club plans classes for license
YOUNGSTOWN
Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club (www.wrarc.net) will sponsor classes for the General Class License exam from 7 ot 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, starting Feb. 25 and continuing through April 1, at ITT Tech, 1030 N. Meridian Road.
The General Class License is the second of three levels of operating privileges.The Technician’s Class License is the entry-level and Amateur Extra Class is the highest level. Knowledge and proficiency of Morse Code is no longer required to obtain an amateur radio license. Participants must hold a valid Technician’s Class License in order to qualify for the General Class license.
The class will be conducted by an American Radio Relay League (ARRL) registered instructor and the exam, at the end of the classes, will be administered by local ARRL and W5YI Volunteer Examiners (VEs).
There is no cost for the class. Registration is required by Feb. 20. Students must buy the General License Class book by Gordon West, WB6NOA.
