The Boardman High School marching band enjoyed a trip to Philadelphia and New York City from Nov. 26-29.
The 159-member band began their journey by traveling to the City of Brotherly Love and participated in the 95th annual Philadelphia Dunkin’ Donuts/ABC6 parade. They also had a walking tour of historic Philadelphia before moving on to New York City. It is the oldest Thanksgiving Day parade in the country.
Each band member was given a patch and pin commemorating the occasion. More than 500,000 people watched the parade on its 1.4-mile route.
While in the Big Apple, the band performed at Trump Tower and enjoyed a Thanksgiving Dinner cruise.
They also did some Black Friday shopping, watched a Rockettes Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall and visited the 9/11 Ground Zero Memorial.
The Boardman High School marching band is under the direction of Tom Ruggieri, who is assisted by Tim Tuite, Mike Shevock and Steven Chambers.
