F5RS, a 501c3 nonprofit rescue and sanctuary, will host a bunny open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 21 at 11836 South Ave, Building E, the old school market.

There will be toy making, make one and take one, bunny grooming and items for sale such as T-shirts, jewelry, bunny treats and toys.

Find out about volunteer opportunities. No animal surrenders will be accepted.

Dog rescue sets Valentine treat sale

Legacy Dog Rescue will sponsor a Valentine “treat” sale from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Family Video, 4385 Kirk Road.

There will be a variety of Valentine-themed cookies, cupcakes and treats for all your loved ones, plus dog treats.

Proceeds will help Legacy Dog Rescue, a local nonprofit group, save dogs that have been abandoned, abused or neglected, and place them into loving homes.

Ghost-hunting program at library

Leetonia Community Library, 181 Walnut St., will sponsor a program on ghost hunting from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. G12P will demonstrate equipment for participants.

Learn to read food labels at presentation

Learn to read and decipher food labels and how information on labels relates to health during a Healthy Eating for You: Label Reading presentation at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Willow Room at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, 8401 Market St.

Bridget Lackey, registered dietician and community educator, will lead an informational discussion and answer questions.

Kindergarten fair will help with transition

Every parent knows that sending children off to kindergarten is a nerve-wracking experience. Eastwood Mall plans a Trumbull County Kindergarten Transition Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Eastwood Mall Center Court.

Acquire the skills and information you and your child need for kindergarten success.

Children will have the opportunity to board a real school bus, meet with Captain McFinn, do yoga, and participate in many free learning activities. There will be prizes.
