YOUNGSTOWN

A Youngstown truck driver was arrested Tuesday after the Federal Bureau of Investigation said he repeatedly took a 12-year-old girl on out-of-state trips to have sex with her, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV reported.

The FBI alleges that Iraephraim Underwood, 58, took the victim on 25 trips in his truck last summer, WFMJ learned from an affidavit. The victim told authorities Underwood had sex with her during at least 15 of those trips, which included trips to Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Underwood was in U.S. District Court Tuesday, where he was ordered to remain in the custody of U.S. Marshals. He is scheduled to be back in court Friday.

Public meetings

WARREN

The Trumbull County Engineer’s Office has set two public meetings to update oil and gas exploration and the status of injection wells; provide an overview on the process for permitting and regulating injection wells; review recent and pending court decisions regarding the industry; discuss injection-well objections to the division of oil and gas; and consider legislation regarding injection wells within the state.

The first meeting will be at 11 a.m. today in the commissioners’ hearing room on the fifth floor of the county administration building, 160 High St. NW. The second is set for 6 p.m. Thursday in the same location.

Atty. Thomas G. Carey of Harrington, Hoppe and Mitchell has been retained to consult on the matter. He specializes in the oil and gas industry.

Man arrested

AUSTINTOWN

Township police arrested Tyler Karabin, 21, of Austintown, after they were called Tuesday afternoon to answer a call for a disturbance at a Staatz Drive home.

According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, police made the arrest about 3 p.m. Karabin faces charges of aggravated menacing and criminal damaging. Officials said no one was injured in the incident.
