Red light violation leads to drug arrest

Cassandra Fricker of Girard was arrested on a felony charge for possession of drugs.

Fricker was pulled over in her Subaru Forester after running a red light at the intersection of McCartney Road and 6th

Street early this morning.

According to the report, an open beer bottle was in the cup holder of the vehicle. Police conducted a search, and also found a marijuana pipe, a plastic bag containing 0.1 grams of marijuana, and 34 alprazolam pills.

Fricker was transported to Mahoning County jail pending a court appearance at 9 a.m. on Feb. 6.
