Kasich makes appointment to Columbiana Muni Court

COLUMBUS — Gov. John R. Kasich today announced the appointment of Atty. C. Christopher Amato of Wellsville to serve as a judge on the Columbiana Municipal Court.

Amato will assume office on Monday, and must run in the November general election to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends Jan. 1, 2020.

Amato is replacing Judge Carol A. Robb, who was elected to the 7th District Court of Appeals.

Amato received his bachelor's degree from Ohio State University and his law degree from Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. His previous experience includes work as the assistant county prosecutor for Northwest Area Court and work with his private law practice, Amato Law Office, L.P.A.
