Wrongful termination

WARREN

A former employee of the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s Office has sued the county commissioners for wrongful termination.

Gary Gaydosh of Hazelwood Avenue Southeast says in a lawsuit he filed in common pleas court that he was employed by the sanitary engineers from July 2004 to May 31, 2010. His employment was terminated while he was under indictment on criminal charges, the suit says. But Gaydosh did not commit any criminal offense or engage in any misconduct that would justify such action, the suit says.

The suit seeks for Gaydosh to be reinstated to his former job with back pay and restoration of benefits or participate in the mediation and/or arbitration process.

The suit also seeks more than $25,000 in compensatory damages.

Man pleads guilty

WARREN

Aaron S. Moffett, 31, of Griswold Street Northeast, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and felonious assault on his sister.

Moffett cut his 34-year-old sister in the back and leg and punched her in the head at 3:30 a.m. July 3 after she kicked him out of the apartment, prosecutors said. Judge Peter Kontos of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court will sentence Moffett in about four weeks, after the county’s Adult Probation Department conducts a pre-sentence investigation.

The nonbinding agreement reached by prosecutors and Moffett’s attorney calls for him to get six years in prison.

Woman jailed

BOARDMAN

A Youngstown woman remains in the Mahoning County jail after a judge set her bond at $2,500 Tuesday.

LaDonna Taylor, 29, of Hunter Avenue, appeared in Mahoning County Area Court here for arraignment on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business and a felony drug possession charge. No plea was accepted.

Taylor was arrested Saturday after a traffic stop after she reportedly lied about her identity. Police also found suspected cocaine, pills and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle. She is scheduled to be back in court Feb. 24 for a pretrial hearing.
