The meal consists of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $7.50. No reservations are necessary. Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road (Route 224), Poland, will sell cavatelli dinners from 3 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out. Meals include two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter and two cookies for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball is $5. Fresh homemade pasta fagioli will be $6 per quart. Fresh homemade pasta sauce will be $5 per quart. Takeout only. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you.
THURSDAY
Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have its monthly drive-through stuffed chicken breast dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The dinner includes potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie for $7 per dinner. Drive up to the door and someone will bring your dinners to your car. Call 330-549-2588 to reserve your dinners. Leave your name, phone number, the number of dinners you want and approximate time you will arrive. A percentage of the profits are used for local mission projects.
Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have takeout dinners available from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $6. No need to preorder or get out of the car. Just drive to the front of the church, and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.
Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, is sponsoring a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. Cost is $8 per meal and includes stuffed chicken breas, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and brownie.
FRIDAY
American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will host a fish fry from 3 to 7 p.m. Prices are $8.50 per dinner and $6.50 for a fish sandwich. Meals include all you can eat fish, fries, coleslaw, roll and beverage. Also available are shrimp or chicken meals. Sandwiches also come with coleslaw and fries. Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish, French fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.
Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. A limited supply of frozen pirogi will be available. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.
Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.
Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for freshly made each week potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lowellville Rod and Gun Club will sponsor a carryout fish dinner from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. or sold out at the clubhouse, 6225 Quarry Road, Lowellville. Dinners will feature perch, fries and cole slaw, and donation is $15. Lunch specials will be available for $8.
St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.
St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.
SATURDAY
New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will host a roast beef dinner with a salad and dessert bar from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The prices are $10 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12 and free for kids under 5. A bake sale will take place during the dinner.
Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, 3919 Southern Blvd., Youngstown, will sponsor a roast beef dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. The menu includes mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, apple sauce, bread and butter, beverage and cake. Take-outs will be available. Call 330-783-0513. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 348 Robbins Ave., Niles, will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door, and meals are $7 for adults, $3 for children age 6 to 12 and free to children 5 and under. Proceeds will be used for the Community Outreach Food Program. The event also will include a 50/50 raffle.
Sharon First United Methodist Church will serve chicken pie dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under.
Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will have a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Meals are $9 for aduls, $5 for children age 5 to 12 and free to children 4 and under. The menu will include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cole slaw, applesauce, bread and butter, beverage and homemade dessert. Takeouts also will be available.
SUNDAY
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica Church, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children. All carryouts are $7.50; containers are 75 cents or you can provide your own. St. Monica Guild will have a pie sale during the dinner.
TAKING ORDERS
Saxon Culture Group’s semiannual sausage sale will offer 3- and 5-pound packages of large links in mild, hot and Saxon-recipe garlic flavors and 5-pound packages of bulk in all flavors. Orders should be picked up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 7 at the Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Fowler Fire Department will serve a pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 15 at the fire station, state Route 193. The cost is $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for seniors and $4.50 for children. Preschoolers eat for free.
Historic Lutheran Church of St. John, 1429 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a pasta dinner from noon until the food runs out Feb. 15. Parents of Boy Scout Troops 63 and 112 will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 21 at Windham American Legion Hall, 9960 E. Center St., Windham.
