Three years probation on a charge of reckless homicide

YOUNGSTOWN

A 27-year-old man was sentenced today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court in Tuesday for killing a man at a Struthers home in April.

Matthew Alexander will serve three years probation on a charge of reckless homicide for the April 3 shooting death of 34-year-old Matthew Molnar at Molnar's home in the 100 block of Renee Drive in Struthers.

Police said the shooting happened after a night of heavy drinking. Had the case gone to trial Alexander was prepared to argue self defense.

Alexander entered his guilty plea Dec. 10.
