obama’s 2016 budget $9.4 million for YARS

The White House budget includes $9.4 million to upgrade an indoor firing range facility at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, issued the following statements:

Brown: “This funding will ensure that Ohio airmen are equipped with the skills and training they need to perform their critical national security missions. I will continue to work to ensure that the Youngstown Air Reserve Station is fully utilized and the men and women who serve our nation have the resources they need.” Brown said he urged the Air Force to include the funding.

Ryan: “I am pleased the president’s budget included this critical funding to ensure our airmen here in Ohio have the equipment and facilities necessary to perform their duties and complete their missions. The men and women stationed at Youngstown Air Reserve Station work selflessly each and every day to keep our nation safe. As a member of the House Budget Committee, I will do everything in my power to ensure that this funding remains in the final bill as Congress debates the Fiscal Year 2016 Budget.”
