Fairy-tale fashion shows schedulded

Princesses will reign at the sixth annual “Princesses on Parade” fairy-tale fashion show on Feb. 28 and March 7 at at Das Dutch Village Inn.
Area girls from 3 to 12 years old who want to don their favorite princess gown and walk the runway for family and friends can do so in this noncompetitive pageant that is designed to build self-confidence and poise. Each princess will get to walk on the runway and receive a beautiful souvenir tiara, make-up application in the “natural” style by Mary Kay, a video upload of the entire pageant and dinner after the show.
Disney music will be featured and favorite princess characters also will be on hand to add to the magic of the day, as well as a professional photographer for princess portraits in a fairy-tale theme.
A fun “Princesses in PJ’s” family slumber and dance party is scheduled for the evening after each show.

Learn to make paczki donuts

Polish Youngstown February Polska Kuchnia is learning to make paczki. The donuts are a traditional pre-Lenten treat.
A class is planned from 1 to 5 p.m. next Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave.
Plan on getting your hands in the dough and also taking home your own tasty, freshly made dozen.
Bring your own mixing bowl and apron. All other supplies will be provided. If you have a favorite, bring your own jam.

Stitches in Time scheduled at library

Stitches in Time is a monthly opportunity for people who enjoy knitting, crocheting and any other “string” crafting to take a project to the library to work on. The next session is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 18.
No registration is required for this stitching get-together that meets in the library’s Quaker Room and is open to the public.
