Chamber power luncheon planned

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will host a power luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 10 at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, 1320 Boardman-Poland Road. The luncheon is a way for members to develop relationships with other members.

New hotel to open

BOARDMAN

A new, 67-room Best Western Plus in Boardman is expected to open within this week.

The hotel at 7400 Tiffany South Ave. has been under construction since 2013.

Uncle Jim’s toasts fifth anniversary

Uncle Jim’s Foods Inc., a Warren-based speciality food company, celebrated its fifth anniversary by announcing new products, new locations and a new distributor relationship.

The company will release two new products: Uncle Jim’s Classic Barbeque Sauce and Uncle Jim’s Wild Habanero Barbeque Sauce.

Uncle Jim’s products will be carried at Jungle Jim’s International Markets.

The company also has signed on with Boardman-based distributor the John Zidian Co. to bring Uncle Jim’s products to more locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.

Insurance seminar

YOUNGSTOWN

An Affordable Care Act seminar will take place Monday at Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business.

Participants will learn the process of navigating the Small Business Health Options Program, which offers small businesses with 49 or fewer employees a way to offer health insurance to their workforce.

Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the seminar will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Register by emailing patricia.welsh@sba.gov.

The Lawrence County Economic Development Corp. will have a free Strategic Ownership Webinar Series starting Feb. 11 and ending March 25.

Information technology specialist and business strategist Jason Alba agreed to provide his Personal Relationship Manager software program to JaneCo’s clients. In 2006, Alba designed the online computer program that allows a job seeker to manage and organize a job search.
