Trampoline park to open in Boardman

BOARDMAN

A township ice-skating facility soon will share space with another recreational business: a trampoline park.

Extreme Air Trampoline Park is slated to open the doors at its newest location, 360 McClurg Road, which also is occupied by the Ice Zone, by Jan. 18, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Boardman location is the second for Extreme Air, which also operates a trampoline park in Niles.

The new site will have similar features, such as dodgeball, a foam pit, basketball hoops and a large open jumping area located where a skating rink previously was located.

The Ice Zone will continue to operate the other rink in the facility.

The trampoline park also will have a rock-climbing wall, an inflatable stunt airbag and an obstacle course.

“It will be a very family-friendly place. Everything we do there is about being family-oriented,” said operations manager Jesse MacGregor.

In other business news, plans for a new Muscle Connection retail store and warehouse on South Avenue are moving forward.

Designs for that store have been submitted to the township zoning office. A site-plan review committee will review them at a meeting next month.

In the village of Poland, a privately owned Shell station is slated to come to a Main Street property in the center of town that previously operated as a different gas station.

The business applied for a zoning permit for exterior renovations, village zoning officials said.

The village zoning administrator also received an informal inquiry regarding the property that previously was occupied by the Friendly’s restaurant that closed last year. No plans for that building have been confirmed.
