Winter Celebration: The Forest

When: Through Jan. 3

What: Enjoy a stroll through a reimagined forest to discover enchanting fairies, a life-size eagle’s nest, bountiful blooms and the annual holiday tree walk. Every Saturday and Sunday, we are open until 8 p.m. for you to experience the Electric Garden, where the grounds will be lit with thousands of twinkling lights.

Botanical Art and Illustration exhibition

When: Through Jan. 10, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

What: The Hunt Institute of Pittsburgh brings the remarkable work of 35 botanical documentation artists from around the world to the Weller Gallery. Botanical art depicts plant portraits, both visually pleasing and botanically accurate. The works are part of the permanent record of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation.

ACOUSTIC JAM

When: Jan. 3, 2-4 p.m.

What: Join us at the Nature Center for a music jam. Bring an instrument or just come to listen. Beginners are welcome. Make new friends, have fun and learn a new tune or two.

STARK PARKS WILDLIFE REHAB

When: Jan. 17, 2-4 p.m.

What: Learn about the amazing work of the Stark County Park District’s Wildlife Center. The center’s staff cares for 1,700 injured and orphaned native wild animals each year. Meet some of their nonreleasable animal ambassadors and learn how you can support the center’s work.
