Ohio driver of car that killed woman inside house is charged

ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio woman has been indicted on charges related to her plowing her car into a home and killing a woman sitting on her couch in July.

Adrianna Young, 24, of Oberlin is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and marijuana possession. Authorities say Young was driving to work Friday when she swerved off a road in Lorain County’s Amherst Township, drove into a yard and went airborne into a home after ramping over an outside cellar door, striking and killing 34-year-old Debra Majkut.

Authorities say Majkut’s 5-month-old son was sitting in a baby bouncer that the car flipped over, possibly saving his life.

Young is free on bond.
