No injuries in accident involving Austintown school bus

AUSTINTOWN — An Austintown school bus was involved in an accident about 7 a.m. today morning along New Road between state Route 46 and Turner Road. Neither the bus driver nor any students on board were injured.

Township police were called and are investigating.

According to a school district news release, the bus driver said she moved over in an effort to avoid an oncoming car, the bus’s tire stuck along the berm of the road, and the bus tilted into the ditch.

Superintendent Vincent Colaluca said, “The middle- and high-school students on board were transferred to another bus and taken to school, where they were checked by a nurse practitioner as a precaution. All are back in class this morning.”
