Crisis Shelter selling lottery calendars

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County, 1218 W. State St., is selling lottery calenders to raise money to benefit victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The $25 tickets will be on sale at the shelter until noon Dec. 24 for Christmas. Tickets will also be on sale after the holiday. Visit the shelter or call 724-652-9206, ext. 100, to purchase tickets.

Celebrate New Year with meditation

A New Year’s Eve celebration will start at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31 by the Bhakts School of Transformation at Bella Nitesh Spiritual Arts and Education Center, 837 Boardman-Canfield Road, in the Amethyst Room Suite 302.

The kirtan event will include a special chant and meditation until midnight. A special candle offering ceremony is planned. Refreshments will be served.

This is an annual fundraiser for the public charity. The suggested donation is $50 per person. This donation is tax-deductible and can be made at the door. Reservations are not required.
