YSU sets planned power outages for Dec. 28 and Jan. 3

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University has scheduled two planned campus-wide power outages to allow for the replacement of aged electrical switching equipment at the university’s main substation.

The outages will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 28 and Jan. 3. The university will be closed for business both days.

New switch gear will arrive and be set this week, and the outages will allow for all of the high voltage connections to occur.
