Injury keeps Crosby out of practice Sunday

Sidney Crosby missed practice Sunday with a lower-body injury, Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said Sunday afternoon, and characterized him as “day to day.”
The club will host the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight, before the four-day NHL Christmas break.
“Sid has a lower body injury. Right now his status is day to day. We’ll see how he is tomorrow,” Sullivan said.
He said he believes the injury occurred in the third period of the team’s 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.
If Crosby is cleared to play Monday there will be no temptation of giving him a week off with the upcoming break.
“I don’t think there’s any temptation. If Sid can play, he’ll play,” Sullivan said. “That’s the type of guy that he is. We’ll make that decision tomorrow. We’ll see how he is.”
Crosby has six goals and 22 points this season for the Penguins.
