Parents announce Culp-Hancock engagement

Maria Christina Culp and Ryan Michael Hancock, both of Girard, are engaged, their parents are announcing.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Carl and Tina Culp of Girard. The prospective groom is the son of Helen Hancock of Girard and John Hancock of Austintown.

The couple will exchange vows during an open ceremony set for 2 p.m. Jan. 16, 2016, at St. Rose Church in Girard. Invitations will be issued for a reception to take place at the Embassy in Struthers.

Miss Culp earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Youngstown State University. She is a registered nurse at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Mr. Hancock graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from YSU. He teaches social studies at Horizon Science Academy in Youngstown.
