Girard High School Athletic Boosters will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the high school.

CLUBS

Youngstown Chapter of Torch Clubs International will meet for a dinner at 6 p.m. Monday at Kilcawley Center, Bresnahan Rooms 1 and 2, on campus at Youngstown State University. Professor Charles Darling, a club member, will discuss his paper “The Misadventures of an Army Draftee: A Memoir.” The public is invited. A social hour begins at 5:30, and the lecture will be at 7. World War II Study Group of the Leetonia Community Public Library, 181 Walnut St., will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Jan. 11 and 25. Various topics concerning the war will be discussed.

POLITICAL CLUBS

Canfield Republican Women’s Club will meet for dinner at 6 p.m. Jan. 6 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Mahoning County GOP Chairman Mark Munroe and vice chairman Tracey Winbush will discuss upcoming elections, the Republican Party and other general political issues. A question and answer session will follow. Guests are welcome. Cost is $13 per person for a lasagna or chicken tossed salad dinner. St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the parish house.

Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will host a “Let’s Welcome in 2016” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The event will feature Simply Iris by Reba Babyak, music also by Babyak and guest speaker Bill Rotar of Columbiana, who will discuss “Victory Through Adversity.” Cost, including lunch, is $13.50. SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. Broadway Ave., Salem. Meetings are open to family members and caregivers of people afflicted with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. For information call 330-788-9755.

Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Antonine Sister’s Adult Day Care Center, 2675 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson. Meetings are free to all caregivers, family members and friends with a loved one living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. R-Weigh Weight Support Groups meet on Mondays at First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave., Salem. Afternoon weigh-in is from 1 to 1:30 p.m., and the meeting will follow at 1:45. Evening weigh-ins are from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by the meeting at 6:15. The first meeting is free. Guests are welcome. The club is an all-volunteer, nonprofit group of women helping women to lose weight. All money paid in goes back to the members in incentives to lose weight.
