Kenny Greco sets annual charity concert

YOUNGSTOWN

Kenny Greco’s sixth annual performance to raise money for local charities will be Saturday at the Petri Club, 3650 Shady Run Road.

The previous five shows have raised more than $20,000 for God’s Warehouse. The food bank will again be a beneficiary this year, but two new ones also will benefit: Second Harvest Food Bank and a coalition of South Side churches led by Father Greg Maturi, formerly of St. Dominic’s.

Saturday’s show will start at 9 p.m. and go until at least midnight.

“So many people come from out of town, and in town, it’s like a mini reunion for us Southsiders,” said Greco.

The set will include a mix of Greco’s original songs from his two albums, and covers, including a few Christmas songs. A few new tunes from his as-yet unreleased third album also will be played.

Those who attend are asked to bring a donation of cash or – preferably – a check made payable to either God’s Warehouse, Second Harvest Food Bank or St. Dominic’s R.C. Church. In the memo line, write “For food donation.”

Nonperishable food items also will be accepted.
