Police said an East Side woman suffered second- and third-degree burns over 15 percent of her body after one of four women who burst into her apartment Tuesday threw a pot of boiling water on her.

Police were called for unknown trouble at an apartment at 1080 Eastway Drive about 9:10 p.m., where a 26-year-old woman told them another woman she was texting with invited herself over to the victim’s apartment.

The woman who invited herself was herself texting, and a short time later, three other women showed up and began beating the victim, reports said.

Reports said at one point during the beating, one of the women grabbed a pot of boiling water off the stove and threw it on the victim, then all four women left.

When police arrived they found the victim had a cut on her lip, a bloody nose and a cut under one of her eyes and burns on her arms, face and head.

Reports said the woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where doctors told police the woman was in serious but stable condition and the burns from the boiling water covered 15 percent of her body.
