WARREN

Three men, one of whom was released from prison in August and who was wearing a bulletproof vest, were arrested on weapons and drug charges Monday night outside the Powerhouse Bar, 999 Mahoning Ave. NW.

Officers with Warren’s Street Crimes Unit noticed a car running and lights on in the parking lot at 10:44 p.m. The lot is known as a “high drug-traffic area,” according to a police report.

Officers watched as Rashawn P. Jordan, 28, of Jefferson Street Southwest, got into the car’s passenger side and then got back out a minute later.

Police then detained him, finding that he was wearing a bulletproof vest and had a loaded handgun and heroin in his possession. Jordan was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying concealed weapons and possessing heroin.

Not-guilty pleas were entered for him Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court, and he remains in the Trumbull County Jail without eligibility to make bond.

Anthony D. Jones, 28, of Hamilton Street Southwest, who had been in the driver’s seat of the car, was charged with possession of cocaine and heroin, and $241 in cash was seized from him.

Not-guilty pleas were entered for him Tuesday, and he was released after posting $5,000 bond.

Officers then observed a third man, Katrell D. Jones, 27, of Blakely Circle Southwest reaching into another running car nearby and found heroin in a bag on the ground near him. He was charged with heroin possession.

A not-guilty plea was entered for Katrell Jones, and he was released after posting $3,500 bond.
