YSU committees expand retirement incentive, hire STEM dean


YOUNGSTOWN

A Youngstown State University trustees committee approved amending the contract with the faculty, expanding a retirement incentive to include employees with 20 years of service.

The incentive had only applied to those with 25 years of service.

Trustees' University Affairs committee also voted to hire Wim F.A. Steelant as the new dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The native of Belgium, who is a vice president for research at a Florida university, will be paid $170,000 annually.
