Youngstown Phantoms forward Cameron Morrison and defenseman Luke McInnis have been selected to participate in the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

The game, sponsored by the United States Hockey League and NHL Central Scouting, will be played on Jan. 12 in Omaha, Neb.

Morrison and McInnis are among 40 players invited to participate in the game for prospects eligible for the 2016 NHL Draft.

“It’s a great opportunity to show the scouts what I have to offer, playing against the best draft eligible players in the league,” Morrison said Tuesday. “It’s a great chance for me to show how I can play against top talent, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity.”

Morrison will be the youngest player in the game. The rookie winger leads the USHL with 29 points in 24 games.

McInnis participated in the 2015 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in September in Buffalo where he was named MVP after scoring the game-winning goal. McInnis was also named the USHL Defenseman of the Week in early October.

“It’s great to have a showcase to play against the top talent in the USHL and be seen by so many scouts,” McInnis said. “I’m sure it will be a fun experience and I am excited for the opportunity.”

Six Phantoms participated in the 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. Forward Kevin Conley was named First Star and MVP after scoring a pair of goals and an assist. Forward Chase Pearson was named the Third Star of the game, with a goal and an assist.
