Devils 2, Sabres 0

BUFFALO, N.Y.

Cory Schneider made 25 saves to earn his second shutout of the season, and the Devils beat the Sabres. Lee Stempniak and Jiri Tlusty scored for the Devils, who earned a point for the fifth time in their last six road games and improved to 6-0-2 against Atlantic Division teams this season. Adam Henrique returned to center the Devils’ top line after missing two games with an upper-body injury, and had an assist on Stempniak’s goal. Mike Cammalleri also had an assist, his team-leading 20th of the season.

Rangers 4, Oilers 2

NEW YORK

Rick Nash and Mats Zuccarello each had a goal and an assist to lead the Rangers over Edmonton, ending the Oilers’ six-game winning streak. Dylan McIlrath scored his first NHL goal and Jesper Fast added an empty-netter in the final seconds to help the Rangers snap a three-game skid. Keith Yandle finished with two assists, and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 18 shots. Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle scored for Edmonton. Anders Nilsson made 17 saves.

Panthers 5, Islanders 1

NEW YORK

Reilly Smith, Aleksander Barkov and Aaron Ekblad all scored in the second period to lead the Panthers to a victory over the Islanders. Vincent Trochek and Jonathan Huberdeau added goals in the third period, and Roberto Luongo finished with 33 saves for the Panthers. Florida beat New York for the second time this season, along with a shootout win at home on Nov. 23.

Blues 4, Jets 3

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA

Paul Stastny scored the tiebreaking goal with 3:38 left in regulation, and the St. Louis Blues fought back from a two-goal deficit to defeat Winnipeg. After Jets forward Mark Scheifele hit the post with a shot, the Blues moved the puck the other way and Vladimir Tarasenko fed a pass across to Stastny. He put a shot off the post and past rookie goalie Connor Hellebuyck.

Avalanche 3, Blackhawks 0

CHICAGO

Semyon Varlamov stopped 29 shots for his first shutout of the season, leading Colorado and snapping Blackhawks star Patrick Kane’s points streak at 26 games. Matt Duchene had a goal and an assist for the Avalanche, who won their third straight to cap a perfect four-day road trip to Nashville, St. Louis and Chicago.

DALLAS

Tyler Seguin broke open a tight game with two second-period goals 30 seconds apart for Dallas. Kari Lehtonen improved to 11-1-0 by making 34 saves. He also notched his third assist of the season on Seguin’s first goal. Defensemen Johnny Oduya and Alex Goligoski each scored to give Dallas one-goal leads in the first and second.

Flyers 4, Hurricanes 3, OT

PHILADELPHIA

Shayne Gostisbehere scored 1:42 into overtime, lifting Philadelphia past Jeff Skinner and the Carolina Hurricanes. Jakub Voracek had a goal and two assists, and Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers, who won their seventh in 11 games while improving to 7-6 in overtime.

Flames 2, Predators 1, OT

NASHVILLE, TENN.

Kris Russell scored 1:23 into overtime and Calgary beat Nashville for its sixth straight victory. TJ Brodie also scored for Calgary, which opened a three-game road trip in style. The Flames improved to an NHL-best 8-1 in overtime and won for just the fourth time away from home this season.

Wild 6, Canucks 2

ST. PAUL, MINN.

Thomas Vanek scored one of Minnesota’s three power-play goals and added three assists, leading the Wild to a romp over road-weary Vancouver. Mikko Koivu also scored and had three assists, Zach Parise added a goal and two assists and backup goalie Darcy Kuemper turned in another sharp performance for the Wild, who improved to 5-0-3 in their last eight games.

Sharks 3, Canadiens 1

MONTREAL

Joe Pavelski scored once and added an assist as the San Jose Sharks beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 on Tuesday night to snap a six-game skid. Patrick Marleau and Dainius Zubrus also scored for the Sharks. Martin Jones made 26 saves for his 13th victory of the season.

Lightning 5, Maple Leafs 4, OT

TORONTO

Vladislav Namestnikov scored 2:01 into overtime to give Tampa Bay the win. Nikita Kucherov, Anton Stralman, Mike Blunden and Jonathan Marchessault had Tampa Bay’s goals in regulation.
