No. 7 Duke 99, Georgia Southern 65

DURHAM, N.C.

Freshman Brandon Ingram had season highs of 26 points and 14 rebounds, and No. 7 Duke beat Georgia Southern. Grayson Allen added 18 points, Matt Jones had 16 and Derryck Thornton finished with 15 for the Blue Devils (9-1) in their first game without high-energy forward Amile Jefferson. He averages a double-double but is out indefinitely with a right foot injury. Playing for the first time in 10 days due to final exams, Duke wasn’t always crisp but still had little trouble pulling away for its seventh straight win. The Blue Devils shot 57.6 percent in the second half and held a 55-29 rebounding advantage. Tookie Brown scored 20 points and Mike Hughes added 14 for Georgia Southern (3-5), which has lost two straight and five of seven.

No. 23 Cincinnati 75, Norfolk State 59

CINCINNATI

Farad Cobb matched his season high with 20 points, Gary Clark added 19 and No. 23 Cincinnati recovered from its loss to crosstown rival Xavier by beating Norfolk State. The Bearcats (9-2) had dropped two of three, including a home-court loss to Butler and a 65-55 defeat at No. 10 Xavier on Saturday. They were sloppy in the first half before pulling away. D’Shon Taylor had 14 points for Norfolk State (4-6), which trailed by only four points late in the first half.

WOMEN

No. 7 Oregon State 75, Cal State Bakersfield 51

CORVALLIS, ORE.

Ruth Hamblin had 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks as No. 7 Oregon State defeated Cal State Bakersfield. Jamie Weisner added 14 points and Deven Hunter had 11 points for the Beavers (8-0), who had every player score. Batabe Zempare had 14 points and eight rebounds, while Dajy Vines added 12 points for the Roadrunners (1-10). The Beavers led 37-22 at halftime. Oregon State outrebounded Cal State Bakersfield 45-32. The Roadrunners were held to just 28 percent shooting, compared to 52 percent for the Beavers.

No. 11 Florida State 79, Mercer 36

TALLAHASSEE, FLA.

Leticia Romero had 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead No. 11 Florida State to a victory over Mercer for its sixth straight win in the series. Romero made a career-high four 3-pointers as Florida State hit a season-high 10 from 3-point range. Florida State made four 3-pointers in the first seven minutes of the second quarter, the last by Maria Conde for a 34-20 lead. The Seminoles led by double figures the rest of the way. Mercer pulled to 46-34 but Brittany Brown answered with a 3-pointer to spark a 9-0 run to close the third quarter. Florida State scored the first 22 points of the fourth as Mercer didn’t score until the 1:45 mark. Shakayla Thomas had 18 points for Florida State (8-2), which has won eight of its last nine games.

No. 20 South Florida, Northern Colorado

GREEELEY, COLO.

The women’s basketball game scheduled for Tuesday evening between No. 20 South Florida and Northern Colorado was cancelled due to weather and safety issues. With snow and winds causing dangerous conditions in the region, Northern Colorado closed its campus at 1:00 p.m. local time. South Florida (6-2) will host Oklahoma State on Sunday. Northern Colorado (5-4) plays at Grand Canyon on Dec. 21. South Florida beat Northern Colorado 84-43 last December in Tampa Bay, Florida in their inaugural matchup.

South Dakota State 88, No. 16 DePaul 79

BROOKINGS, S.D.

Macy Miller scored 19 points and Clarissa Ober had 15 points and 10 rebounds as South Dakota State knocked off No. 16 DePaul. South Dakota State (9-2) raced to take a 13-point lead after one and 15 by intermission. The Blue Devils (7-4) rallied, cutting the Jackrabbits’ lead to eight points through three quarters but Ober sandwiched a pair of layups around a Miller 3-pointer to push the lead back to 13 points with 7:11 remaining. DePaul cut the lead to five points, 84-79 with 35 seconds remaining but South Dakota State closed it out by hitting 4 of 6 from the free throw line. Madison Guebert scored 16 points and Kerri Young dished out eight assists for the Jackrabbits, who now have beaten a Top 25 opponent in each of the last four seasons. Chanise Jenkins and Megan Podkowa scored 22 and 21 points, respectively, to lead DePaul.
