The United Methodist Community Center, 2401 Belmont Ave., will have a holiday food giveaway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday for military veterans who signed up through the program in October.

Mercy Health Partners will provide free flu shots from 10 a.m. to noon. Toiletries and clothing also will be available.

Santa Claus fly-in

HOWLAND

The Ernie Hall Aviation Museum, 4085 North River Road, is sponsoring a Santa Claus fly-in fundraiser from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Sloas Airfield adjacent to the museum.

Santa will arrive via plane about 3:30 p.m. as part of an afternoon of holiday activities including opportunities for pictures with Santa and his plane. The cost is $10 per child with all proceeds benefiting the Ernie Hall Aviation Museum. Children will receive a photo with Santa and a special gift.

People are welcome to fly in or drive in. Reservations are suggested, but walk-ins are welcome. For reservations, email ErnieHallAviationMuseum@gmail.com.

Resource fair set

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Lawrence County Council of Community Services is hosting a free Merry Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at The Confluence, 214 E. Washington St.

The fair will host booths representing local service providers and will be an opportunity to share with the public the variety of services available in the community for people who are seeking help. This is a chance for business people, clergy, new staff of social-service agencies and anyone in customer service who often gets asked where to go for help. For information, call 724-654-5507.

Help sought for free community meal

YOUNSTOWN

Sixth Ward Councilwoman Janet Tarpley and 6th Ward Councilwoman-elect Anita Davis are sponsoring a free community meal at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 2821 Hillman St. The traditional Christmas meal will take place Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. or until the food is gone in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Everyone is welcome.

The meals are free, but volunteers in serving and cleanup are welcome. Additional information can be found online on Facebook by typing in “Operation Turkey Drop” or contacting Anita Davis, 330-518-4718.
