Akiva Academy seeks supporters of Pajama Program

YOUNGSTOWN

The children, teachers and families of Akiva Academy, housed inside the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, are inviting the community to join them in supporting the Pajama Program.

Akiva is accepting donations of new books, pajamas of any size, and financial contributions until Thursday. They also will be hosting a schoolwide pajama party that day to celebrate.

The Pajama Program serves children ranging from newborn to age 18 who live in group homes, shelters and temporary housing. This annual effort is part of the nationwide push to help the Pajama Program’s One Million Good Nights initiative reach its goal.

Launched in the fall 2013, the project set out to collect 1 million new pajamas and new books by the end of this year.

Since 2001, Pajama Program has provided more than 3 million new pajamas and books to children through 60 chapters across the United States. For information, visit www.pajamaprogram.org.
