West Side Cats to offer holiday events

West Side Cats will host Christmas events and funds raised from the events will benefit cats at the shelter.

A West Side Cats volunteer and shelter cat will visit PetCo, 317 Boardman Poland Road, Boardman, from noon to 4 p.m. today to sell raffle tickets for the organization’s annual holiday basket raffle. The basket is valued at over $500 and features a hand-crafted wreath. Santa will visit the store from 1 to 4 p.m. for photos with pets for $9.99 each. Half of the photo proceeds will benefit WSC.

There will be a Christmas open house and volunteer appreciation day from 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 19 at the shelter, 2217 Mahoning Ave. Christmas items will be on sale and refreshments will be served. The drawing for the holiday basket will take place during the event. For information, call 330-519-5002.

Herb Growers Guild meeting is Tuesday

The Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Rotary room in the Lariccia Family Community Center at Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road. There will be a Christmas dinner and installation of officers. Cost is $5 for members and $15 for guests. Reservations are requested by today.
