State patrol uses stop sticks twice to nab driver in fleeing vehicle

RAVENNA

A Brimfield man faces multiple charges after purportedly leading Brimfield police and troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Ravenna post on a chase on Interstate 76.

Andrey Walsh, 18, of Brimfield, is charged by the patrol with fleeing and eluding, reckless operation and resisting arrest for the chase that reportedly began after Brimfield police attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The chase, during which officers twice put down stop sticks, crossed into Mahoning County and ended when Walsh entered a toll plaza at the Ohio Turnpike.
