Man jailed after gunpoint robbery of cab driver
YOUNGSTOWN
An 18-year-old Youngstown man is in the Mahoning County jail, accused of robbing a cab driver at gunpoint.
Troy Adkins Jr., of Boston Avenue, is charged with aggravated robbery.
A driver for Fab Cab reported to police that he picked up Adkins at a store on Mahoning Avenue in Austintown Friday night, drove him downtown and then in the direction of his house. Adkins reportedly had the driver stop at Erie Street and Avondale Avenue, pressed a gun to the driver’s rib cage and demanded money.
The victim handed over $200.
Police located Adkins hiding in his attic at home, according to a police report.
