Ohio man pleads guilty in infant daughter’s death

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for the death of his infant daughter last year.

Cleveland.com reports that 24-year-old Louis Delery of Northfield entered the plea in an Akron courtroom on Wednesday for the August 2014 death of 4-month-old Addison Delery.

The Cuyahoga County medical examiner said the infant stopped breathing after her chest was compressed and ruled the death a homicide. The medical examiner said the girl had skull and rib fractures.

Delery initially told investigators that Addison fell out of bed while he prepared a bottle for her, but later said he was playing video games when he realized she’d stopped breathing.

Delery faces up to 11 years in prison when he’s sentenced Jan. 27.
