Mahoning Valley November sales take slight hit

New- and used-vehicle sales took a slight hit in the Mahoning Valley during November.

Dealers saw a loss of 36 sales year over year, according to data released by the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio.

The data are compiled from titles processed at county title departments by the final business day each month.

In November 2015, the area saw 4,985 sales compared with 5,021 last November.

Sales for the year so far are down by 0.5 percent with 67,719 vehicles sold compared with 68,069 vehicles sold this time last year.

New-vehicle sales were up 3 percent with 2,000 sales compared with 1,941 sold in November 2014.

On the other end, sales of used vehicles dropped 3.1 percent to 2,985 from 3,080 sales in November 2014.

The top-three dealerships with the most sales were Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown with 224 sales compared with 205 sales last November; Sweeney Buick GMC in Boardman with 206 sales compared with 140 last November; and Sweeney Chevrolet with 183 sales compared with 189 sold last November.

Greenwood Chevrolet, Sweeney Chevrolet and Sweeney Buick GMC sold the most new vehicles in November.

The top-selling dealerships for used vehicles were Sweeney Buick GMC, Greenwood Chevrolet and Donnell Ford of Boardman.

The three top-selling new models were: Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 128 sales; the Chevrolet Equinox with 120 sales; and the Chevrolet Cruze Limited with 116 sales.

The three top-selling used models were: the Chevrolet Impala with 83 sales; the Ford F-150 with 81 sales; and Chevrolet Malibu with 78 sales.
