YOUNGSTOWN

The Young Philanthropist Fund is welcoming proposals from nonprofit organizations seeking grants of up to $4,000 for initiatives in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

Those interested in applying for a grant must submit an application by Jan. 1. A link to the online application form can be found in the “Apply for a Grant” section of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley website, located at www.cfmv.org.

Free class at EGCC

The Greater Warren-Youngstown Urban League and the Ohio Development Services Agency through its Minority Business Assistance Center in conjunction with the Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corp. will have a free business class today at Eastern Gateway Community College, Valley Center Room A102, 101 E. Federal St.

The class, Financing Your Start-up Business: Ideas on How to Find Venture Capital, will take place from 5 to 7 p.m.
